PERSONAL STATEMENT

Throughout my entire life I have been a firm believer of selfless service, sacrifice, and the betterment of my community. After the 2003
wildfires that ravaged San Diego County, and the tragic events of 9/11, I realized the need for San Diego County to have an additional tier
of E.M.S. protection that will assist the paid professionals of San Diego County, wherever they may be needed. This basic concept of
volunteer emergency services has been in existence since the colonial period and continues today. Whether the community is big or small
there will always be a need for volunteers. Therefore, once again I find myself where my heart and mind have always taken me, to a place
to serve others.
